Shipping Policy
Thank you for shopping at the CIS Online Store. The following are the terms and conditions that constitute our Shipping Policy.
Product Availability
All products are handmade in El Salvador and sent from El Salvador. While most of the items displayed are in our inventory, we may not have available the exact design you request or may not have a large quantity of the specific design you request. Completing an order that we do not have in inventory takes 14 days since items are handmade. Feel free to consult with us if you have questions.
Shipping Time and Estimated Fees
Shipping costs are determined by weight, volume and speed. There are three ways of shipping products to you, the fastest of which is by FedEx in as quickly as 3 days. In our experience, FedEx is exceptionally reliable and the cost diminishes (per unit of weight) the larger the order is. For a less expensive option, we recommend you order 1-2 months in advance and send via a slower service, as noted in the table below.
The fees for the shipping method you choose are calculated and added to your order at check-out, and included in your purchase. The CIS will handle the shipping arrangement at no additional cost.
Shipping rates and delivery speeds are subject to change. However, in our experience they typically range as follows:

A fourth and alternative way -- if there happen to be visiting delegations from abroad departing El Salvador -- is that the CIS may be able to arrange with a delegation to take your purchase with them and ship it to you once in the United States or their home country. This is typically the least expensive option, but is currently not viable during the COVID-19 pandemic. When travel does resume, you can consult with us to see if this may be an option on your timeframe. If you opt for this method, shipping fees are typically about 20%, 25% or 30% above the purchase price if being shipped to the U.S, Canada, or Europe/Australia or other, respectively.
Shipment Confirmation and Order Tracking
You will receive a shipment confirmation email containing your tracking number(s) once your order has shipped. The tracking number(s) will be active within 24 hours.
Customs, Duties and Taxes
The CIS Online Store is not responsible for any customs fees and taxes applied to your order. All fees imposed during or after shipping are the responsibility of the customer (tariffs, taxes, etc.).
Return and Refund Policy
You can return any item to us within one month of the date of shipment and we will refund the product cost less the shipping costs. Return the item to us at:

After one month, we can exchange products, but we cannot guarantee a refund. The CIS will not assume any shipping costs for returns or exchanges.
Damages
The CIS will resend any damaged good with a photo of the damaged product. You will not be charged any additional shipping costs. The CIS assumes these costs and does not pass them on to the artisans.
